Aaliyah's debut album Age Ain't Nothin' But A Number was released in 1994. The album was Gold when she was just 15 years old. The collaboration was heavily in the style of R. Kelly, and made her a star onto the scene. The year 1996 saw her release her second album One In A Million with Jermaine dupri and Timbaland. The album contained the hit number one track If Your Girl only was aware. Aaliyah was recognized internationally as a R&B artist following the release of her sophomore album, One In A Million. Aaliyah starred alongside the famous martial artist Jet-Li Romeo Must Die (2000) the action and romance film. Her role came about after being spotted by producer Joel Silver at an awards show. In 2002 she got to play the film vampire Queen of the Damned which was based on The Anne Rice novel. In 2003, she was in The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. The singer has received four Grammy nominations for the year 1999, 2001 and 2002 and 2003. Aarti Mann is an Indian-American from the first generation born in Connecticut. Mann is a contraction of her married final name Mankad. However, she uses both Aarti Mann and Aarti Majumdar as her professional name. Her acting career began in the mid 2000's, with a few roles on TV and films. Other notable works she has done include Leverage 2012, Suits 2013, and Grey's Anatomy 2017. The actress has been featured in commercials for big companies like the international auto manufacturer Volvo. The actress lives with her family in Los Angeles with her husband and daughter. She will continue to pursue an acting profession.
